Post subject: | muffler/silencer/exhaust build |
A little bored waiting for my engine to show up I decided to open up my xb9r- race silencer/exhaust/muffler to see exactly why it sounds like someone put a bunch of pebbles in it and gut it while I´m at it and then smack the dent´s out and give it a paint job...make it pretty so to say. So I really have 2 questions....is the mounting different form the 03 to the 07 or is it just the headersize that connects to the muffler/silencer/exhaust and been doing some reading on putting your own silencer together and have found some that believe the best way, even for us "harley" riders is a straight can with as smooth a surface as possible cutting down turbulence and creating a high exhaust stream velocity helping to create a low back presure which means more torque (http://www.mikekemper.com/elantra/diyexhaust/index.html) whilst I found another page where someone had gutted a drummer (which seems to be a fav among many american buellers and they go with zig-zag columns in the muffler.....anybody that has tested either or give me some tips before I put my old can back together Mike |
