I have a secondhand swinger for the tuber and want to get it powdercoated and paddock stand bobbins fitted but not quite sure how the swingarm comes apart from the section that bolts to the engine block.

I have got the old isolators out and the long allen bolts that goes through the spindle but how do you get the threaded inserts out that the isolator bolts go into ?

They just pull out...assuming you've slackened the pinch bolts :?

Screw the iso bolts back in a couple of threads and pull on them.

How much are bearing sets and do they come with the outer dust covers or do you have to order them seperate ?

You need a pair of Timken tapers....dont buy these from HDB......seals are seperate.....do buy these from HDB.

Radius the bearing bores and drill a drain hole.

Cut all the lugs off and polish.....I really wouldn't powder coat if I were you.

Got the bearing advice sorted ,thanks Pash but you are right about the radius of the bearing bores, what does this do/involve ?

We all ain't mechanics and so it's a learning curve for some people

No offence intended. Old engineering jape about sending the apprentice to the stores for something like a hole or a clearance... or a long wait...

Grab a small round file and just lightly smooth off the sharp edges of the bored holes where the bearings go in. You're just looking to facilitate an easy entry for the bearing outer race and then the seal.. making a little 'ramp' if you will. It's called radiusing because if you were to look at in cross section, you've changed the sharp right angle of an edge into a tiny arc of a curve... a radius, of only about 1-1.5mm.
Drain hole should be drilled vertically upwards (imagining the arm as fitted) directly above where the shock eye bolts in. 5-6mm is good.
HTH.
