I currently use either a topbox or magnetic tank bag - all changes tomorrow with the new buell xb12ss. I carry a laptop, trousers, shoes and the all important food for the day to work. What are the suggestions - the latop is fairly small 13 inch macbook, shoes are a size nine and the trousers are not suit (dockers) if any of that helps. larigos |

http://www.ventura-bike.co.uk/system/about.aspx a bit pricey, but they have a variety of racks and bags |

saw those but I also saw the hepco and becker racks a little expensive but water tight - not sure if they fit the ss though as they are advertised for the xb12s. may pop into a fabricators to see what they can do. |

Consider keeping the bike unencumbered, and using a good quality, versatile, highly portable bicycle messenger bag. The good ones will keep out the water, be large enough to hold your stuff (quick on/quick off, nothing left on the bike), and they can sit nicely on the seat behind you without any weight on your shoulder, while the straps hold the bag in place back there (there's usually a secondary strap that keeps the bag from sliding around to the front when you don't want it to). Good review of a messenger bag; or Another Review If you want a smaller size bag, then you can get a Buell tank bag to augment the messenger bag - good place for the smelly stuff, like the blue stilton (lunch) and your shoes ![]() It takes me long enoutgh to gear up; I don't want to make it longer by having to fiddle with luggage if I don't need to. Of course, having said that, my Ss came with the Buell saddlebags, so I've kept them on.......... ![]() |

I use an Oxford Humpack on my XB12Ss and it is very convenient but the only thing I would say it that it takes the pillion seat so you cant take two up and luggage. The ventura system is a runner if you want two up and luggage. |
