The Uly has been running great but not anymore ![]() ![]() This morning I was getting bit of engine surging which sort of felt like a lack of fuel issue and not the sort of stuff I had with the Earthing problems. The fuel was low, but within range and no low fuel light, but put some in anyway just to be sure. Tonight it was doing the same and was going from a slight to bad surging at mostly about 3000 RPM in any gear. No fault light was comming up. Ok so I get home, seat off, fuse box out, removes/cleans the second Earth point and checks the main one. Now the bike will not start at all ![]() Although it said no problems with the plug spark or injectors I will do a manual check to be sure. Do the injectors click (open and closed) on the SPY test. Maybe the Remus Powerizer has gone "tits-up" and I will check that as well. I did turn it off wene the bike was working but it was still doing the same thing. I turned the engine over lots of times, while testing, but did not see/smell any unburnt fuel at the exhaust. I would have thought there would have been if there was unburnt fuel being pumped into the cylinders. The bike will not run and I can forgive anything but the need for me to use public transport. Ho-Hum, time for me to get the brain in gear again ![]() |

Does the fuel pump run when you turn the key? |

Hi Pash. Yes it does. Key on, pump runs and stops (upto pressure I guess). In fact everything on the bike seems normal it just does not fire up. I should say though that it was not a surging sort of thing but more of a cough or miss from one of the cylinders. The surg was from the cylinder coming back in. One thing that would help me is. Do you know if the ECM-SPY test for the injectors cycles there solenoids. The Powerizer is fitted in series with the injector plugs and may be at fault. Maybe it has failed and no signals are getting to the injectors. As normal I dont fully know how this unit interacts with the bike so will have to go through the motions to make sure it is working or what happens if it does not ![]() Best foot forward ![]() |

I don't have much experience with Buell's but this Powerizer sound like some of the DFO's ( digital fuel optimizer ) people fit to Harley's, they piggy back to injectors. On a Harley you can just unplug it, fueling won't be right but if it just runs a bit weak. Same thing with power comanders. Looking at my Uly nothing looks easy to get at. |

I traced the fault to the Remus Powerizer Earth terminal that mounts to the battery. The heatshrink tubing was holding the wire in place at the terminal but was broken. My unit has a switch, so that you can turn it off, to set it back to the OEM system. The problem is that if the unit is not earthed it blocks the injector signal from the ECU. That is why I was getting no fuel through and no cycle of the injectors. The bike is running great again ![]() This was not a Buell system/build problem and down to the Remus Powerizer. I will add a post in the Tech section about this because it needs to be known about. |

I love it when something simple and easy fixes a bike that isn't running!!! |
