Surely I should get more than 90 miles to the tank on an xb12ss. I have also had an issue of fuuel out the over flow last week. After I noticed that it was 30 miles to the next fill. Any ideas? When I say fill 13.5 litres after the fuell light is on. |

Is it standard? How do you ride? You should be getting 130 miles plus before your light comes on... |

I ride what I would call normal. 7 miles to work main roads 30 40 t 50 dual carrage way tend to keep revs around 2 - 3 k with spurts of 4 - 5k when overtaking or pulling off from lights. I do filter if there is traffic so no long periods stuck in jams. It's about 20 mins door to door ride. I haven't as yet taken it for a long ride I.e over 40 miles in one go. Could that be an issue? Bike is standard except for crash bobins. |

hope not it was brand new to me with not a blemish on it. Plus I have filled upto 15 litres in the past. As I hate running the bike low on fuel so light on it gets filled asap. |

On a brimmed tank I get about 110 miles on a run and about 100 when used to just commute |

That's too low. My Super TT (has same [larger] fuel tank as ss) gives over 100 before the light comes on and that is when I'm riding full throttle. On a motorway, sitting at 70 in top I've got 150 miles out of a tank. |

It's in for the first service tomorrow. So will mention it just in case something is up. I did get 125 to 14 litres on the sv650 doing the same journey. |

I assume, brimmed means the one with the snorkel hole. So my results are very similar. I get 180 km (~ 110 mls) until the fuel light is coming on usually, and so do my mates. This is all long distance (usually a day off), not commuting. Ash wrote: On a brimmed tank I get about 110 miles on a run and about 100 when used to just commute

I average around 120 before the light comes on even 2 up with full luggage. the lowest was 95 but that was at a steady 95mph into a head wind. The highest was 140 |

I tend to get between 100-120 between fill ups, thats mostly town riding since I've bought it, Planning on going down to Talgarth this April so I'm hoping for a bit more on a long run |

I use http://www.fuelly.com to record all my fuell-ups: click here for XB12Ss's Remember to set for UK mpg (top left of screen) Mine is one with 0.0mpg as i haven't filled her up yet Useful to track your mpg and spot early if something is wrong. You can even manually* add your mpg as a signature for ukbeg forum see below *no [img] tag allowed on this forum |
