I've had the XB12Scg (07 plate) from new (Glasgow HD) and it has now passed to Magz (Matron) as she wanted one and I didn't want two bikes the same in the garage. All the servicing and warranty work has been done by Edinburgh HD including the 10k service last Jan. As Magz is now riding it we took the decision to ride down to Maz and let him sort it. Thank God we did..

Me being to spannering what Pavarotti was to Triathlon, I had put my trust totally in HDE - turns out this wasn't such a smart move. I knew they hadn't done the forks or head bearings, apparently they don't need doing at 10k

As most of you know Maz is more than willing to let you watch his work and explain stuff to the ignorant. Some of the horrors highlighted were:

* Fasteners replaced with non standard and some in the wrong place (swopped from airbox cover to chin guard)
* K&N Filter replaced with a standard (What's that all about?)
* Incorrectly fitted FST which is now goosed and needs replaced
* When the swingarm was replaced under warranty they didn't replace the bolt sleeve on the connection to the shock :o (Maz custom made one :worthy: ) I'm guessing this could have caused an interesting situation.
* There was more but I don't want to think about it

So now the bike has been Mazzed and feels much better for it, Maz also did the breather and nipple mods lOl The service took the best part of two days and I am more than happy for Magz to ride it knowing it's as good as it gets. Well worth the trip and expense, time and money well spent.

So... Scotland based Buellers that use EHD, be aware that these guys certainly didn't do a decent job on my bike but charged me handsomely for it and looked me in the eye when they took my money and let me ride off :tosser: How are they looking after yours :?:

On the plus side....

Got to meet Maz and watch him work; met Tarka (Maz' Black Lab); also met Tigs and Rick. All in all a great 3 days  :D

8-)

Most important thing is to have a bike you have confidence in... You now have that!

Edinburgh HD don't like anything non-standard on bikes you bring in. Supposedly they were going to jack up my bike with a Termi can on - fortunately they noticed that.

Prob why they took out the k&n. I imagine they didn't understand the Freespirits. They told me FS tensioners break belts.

I used them for warranty work and got my 5K at Maz. I've spunked out for the service manual and will do my 10K myself - time I learned! I imagine it will take me a couple of weeks and lots of questions on here though.

:headbang: ask them where your K&N is , if they have "lost it" then they need to buy you a new one asap.

I'm not intending to go near the place again, it's been a year since they did the 10k and I'm pretty sure they'll not give a toss. It's not just the non standard stuff as they pretty much made an arse of everything :x

Nice to meet you Clive, you do make a lovely cuppa. I'm sure Maz will set you on if you're ever in need ;) :hehe:. Also nice to see Magz escaped the Trafford Centre in one piece. She is a far braver woman than me lOl

Glad to hear you had a good experience.
I'm getting my first service done by Edin HD on Wed but not sure I will have the big services done by them.
I will either do it myself or go down to see the Mazster. :maz:

I know when I first got my bike they told me it takes standard Harley oil so I had better make sure they put the correct oil in it.

I know when my 10K was due on the XB they told me they didn't think the fork oil needed done at 10K but they had never actually done it so how they knew I don't know plus the tool for compressing the forks was broken.
Needless to say I done it myself.
