Hi All I'm currently living in London and my Uly needs its 5K service. I've just got off the phone with two Harley dealers and they recon it’s over £300 for the service. Do any of you know of an alternative dealer/garage that can service Buell’s? Also does anyone know if there has been any re-calls for anything on a 2008 Ulysses? Cheers |

might be worth a trip to black bear. £300 sounds pricey, and will they do it properly? |

£300 is about the ball park figure for any HD 5k service in fact I'm sure ours was slightly more than that |

Cheers I use The Foundry in Canterbury and yes it is 70 miles from East London but - Dave the Workshop Manager is honest about anything that needs doing, there Labour rate is very good, they do what they promise/call you if needed and do not fit none needed parts. All-in-all the service Dept is a slick operation. Nothing seems a problem, you book in at your time, they do the work and you can even see the work being done, if you wish, from the office. So it sounds cool and a good place to go but here is the number one advantage. Dave has a very good relationship with HD/Buell and that puts the top on any problems you may have. With a Buell you need this sort of person/Dealer on your side. Ok its a bit far away but just pick a nice sunny day and enjoy the trip because it is a nice ride down to Canterbury. Also dont use Stratstone in Chingford. They dont know Buells from cheese. I kid you not. They are total toss-pots. |

I have to say Dave at the Foundry has been straight with me and the parts dept is A+ . I have no personal knowledge of Black Bear for service but I'm told they are good now. Both these shops are privately owned perhaps that says a lot over the corperate liars I rest my case, obviously TFD has had the same experience most of their customers do Also dont use Stratstone in Chingford. They dont know Buells from cheese. I kid you not. They are total toss-pots. |

Thanks for the info, I was about to book my bike in at Chingford Harley so thanks for the warning. I bought the bike from there so I would have trusted them. A 70 mile ride on a sunny day sounds great (Does anyone have any contact details for them?). |

You must have been one of the lucky ones when you bought the bike, most seem to get had over before they get off the premises. Don't know anyone who has had Buell work done there ( Stratstones ) but I get a lot of Harley work because of their incompitance and the damage they do to customers bikes. |
