Being in London I dont get much of a chance to give any bike a real hard time but today I went out for a bit of a ride. Over winter riding I forget what the bike does the best and thats its handling. I have never had a bike that "counter-steers" so fast, holds a line in a bend so well or carries so much speed into/through a bend as my Uly. You do need to warm the rubber up first ![]() The main problem is the holes in the roads. They are the worst I have ever seen in 30 years and glad I ride a Uly at the moment. I have had some real bad hits and on some bikes would have ended up on my arse. Not a good situation. |

Used to have a RSV-R so the combination of Buell and a Rotax engine was a number one thought. Sat on a CR and was to small, I am 2m tall, for me. I am a big heavy guy so ltd to the bikes I can use. I have thought of chopping my head off but then I would not be able to see the road or talk crap ![]() |

I know shame they did not make a 1125 Uly, I dont know how heavy you are but iam 14.5 st and 6-1ft and the R is good for me but not as good as the Firebolt was. |

I am 18st and 6ft 7in tall. I use a bike all the time, for all things. I have even had a 22 in TV on the back of my Uly. I think the pre 08 Uly bikes are just about, with a bit of sorting, the best all-round bikes ever built. |

I got out last weekend, on my Uly (08) - across the blackdown hills (somerset) to Tiverton, then North all across Exmoor. Stopped to talk to some ponies. The down through the last remaining temperate ancient british rain forest to Lynmouth - along the coast road to Minehead then back home. There can't be many better rides out there. The uly os totally suited to it. Tyhe new stealth can developed a cracked weld - otherwise all went well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=go8hvbenUc0 - art attempt http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fXkrhKI3rT4 - basic uly ride vid |

went out tuesday on my CR. as TFD says the roads are a mess, mostly due to the winter, but also typical lack of maintenance anyway. im actually glad to see some rain as there is a lot of dirt on the roads seeing as there's been no rain for a couple of weeks now it was nice and warmish. (10-13C) i guess. really loving the CR now, im 5'6" so have cut the seat down a bit as i was on tiptoes, and feel more sat 'in' the bike than i was. also softened the suspension a couple of notches on the rear and 1 turn on the front. bike is frigging awesome and very stable in corners, whereas my Scg is a bit twitchy, but not scary, probably due to the short travel suspension. |

I take it the Ulys have a similar wheelbase to the SS/STT? I found the shorter wheelbased XBS to be a bit too twitchy for me - I'm not too experienced riding so the stabler bikes were better for me. |

Ulys have much less of a mini-moto feel to them. |

After a injury forced me to stop riding last October getting back onto me Uly was shear joy on Friday. I have to say after owning/riding over 30 different bikes over nearly 40 years riding the only other bike that came close to being so much fun was a 1975 Ducati 450cc Desmo single ![]() |
