Post subject:  L1501.8 New Tuber Front Iso Kit

New front isolator kit should be available now. Apparently based on -79D big twin HD isolator, but with new, better rubber compound. Has anyone tried these? If not, then I may be the guinea pig, because my S1 front iso is pretty dry and crumbly, and the gas tank shakes like a pair of bodacious ta-ta's when the bike is warming up.

Shows what Buell was as a company: they were developing and testing a better replacement part for 1995-2002 bikes as they were closing down the factory in 2009.

Brilliant indeed. I worried a part like that wouldn't be available anymore really soon but ka-ching: A new and improved version and all 8-)
Better get a few before they are all gone ;)

Update: it seems that part number 8 as labeled in the instructions, a "snubber" washer, is missing from most, if not all the kits sent out by HD. It is part number L0503.T, so if you order the new isolator kit, you may want to bring this up to whoever you are ordering from, and have the m check the kit, and order the extra part if necessary. There should be (6) regular washers in the kit, plus this snubber piece.

My kit is one of many here in the States that is missing that part.

Got mine (from DG20) in about a week... but another ordered a day later has gone onto back order.
No 'snubber' washer in my kit....
The 'Destructions' state that some frames have 'notched' head-tubes (mine does) where the mount sits on the frame, and some are 'un-notched' where the mount hangs under.... does anyone know if there was an underlying reason for the difference in head-tube design....? M.Y.?
I'm assuming the notch is the later design to allow for the mount to sit rather than hang....

Just discovered another 'issue' with the new isolator kit....
The centre hole of the 'old' isolator is 1/2" dia...
The 'new' isolator has a 7/16" hole and a 7/16" bolt is supplied.... but you still use the same ally engine mount, whether the original cast type or replacement billet NHRS style, which obviously has a 1/2" hole... that's a lot of slop...

What would you do, Maz, sleeve it down? ...have a special stepped bolt made?
