Hi all, most on here im sure know about the Emporium and the legend that is Maz but for those who don't, you should!
Im not one for chattin on websites but have found ukbeg excellent tool and enjoy watching some of the bickering :handbag:
Also ukbeg members advised me to go see Maz when i first decided I wanted a Buell. His guidence led me to hunt for an 01X1, starry eyed me with little knowledge of buells went out and got one only to find a few hidden troubles (as I'm sure have many of you!)
Any how, over the last couple of years, apart from the ribbing, Maz's service, advice and knowledge has been priceless. As summer ride weather is just around the corner and I have done the majority of the 10k service myself i thought i would treat my X1 to front fork service with Maz @ the emporium only to discover a dangerous botch repair job lurking beneath. Had I gone to either your average bike shop or even your local HD shop, the issue would most likely have been missed and even had it not been missed, quite unlikely they would first had the parts and 2nd give a sh1t about getting me on the road cheaply, quickly and to such a high standard.
I rolled out this eve with a bike I can now ride with confidence that feels like a totally different machine.
Hopefully meet a few of you @ Jodrell Bank on Sunday :!:
Cheers Maz :D

Maz is a rare breed today and they are getting even rarer, rearer, scarce, you know what I mean, I soon realised he is a genuine gent and anti bull poo.

It will be good to say hello again :yup:

Previous owner had had a front ender but kept it quiet, a couple of things had me concerned since I got it and the first being the wheels being the wrong colour (which maz pointed out on my first ever visit to him once i had got the bike).
When Maz was servicing the forks he advised to check out the head stock bearings even though they seemed smooth enough, first obvious sign was the spindle seamed more an interference fit, on closer inspection, it had either been sheared or bent then welded but not straight then crudely turned to compensate :o also yolks were a little twisted so obviously a real risk of major failure on the front end which realistically could have been fatal!
Its been a fairly expensive learning curve but I am now the proud owner of a sweet X1 with all the wrongs put right and a bike i now know inside and out and I absolutely buzz of it! 8-)
