Post subject:  Brake Pads
What's the brake pad of choice for a 2007 XB1200STT?

My riding is all road, pretty steady and I have never had any problems with the stock Buell/Nissin ones fitted. Only local Stealer (not even that local tbh) wants well over £60 + vat with at least 7 days to get them in stock.

Most alternatives seem to be sintered HH and I am not sure I'll see any benefit and won't these eat the disks?

I think so, however they tend to leave deposits on the disc, whereas Braking certainly don't.

I did hear from a local hooligan (bikerdude666) that the EBCs lasted longer, but I am happy with Braking.

yea pash i do prefer the ebc's, the braking pads seemed wear quite quickly at 1st but are now probably gonna last the same as the ebc's but there doesnt seem to be so much power in the brakes in wet conditions with braking pads (my opinion anyway, i know alot hear swear by braking)

:yt: Std pads started to judder on my bike, and felt vague, cleaning sorted it out every couple of hundred miles but fitted Braking front and rear, judder was gone and brakes have better feel, especially the rear, IMO.

I must admit I have not ridden in the wet so cannot comment on wet performance.

Of course, pad and disc life may be compromised; IMO it is worth it for the increase in confidence the changes have given me.
