Hi Folks new to the forum. Just bought a 1200 lightning CG, 2008. Loving the bike, very different to anything I have owned before. Still use a 1971 BSA lightning, have been riding a BMW R1150 GS, but have had Jap race reps in the past. My question, maybe daft, any reccomendations for suspension set up? Also any quirks of handling worth knowing about? Any tips on getting the best ride out of the bike? I have noticed that front forks bottom out a lot, I am no heavy weight so guess that some serious setting up is needed. Bike has about 3600 miles on clock Thanks F |

Best person for you to visit is Tubbs at Moore Speed Racing. He will give you all the help you need to get the bike set up to your needs. The only other person in the southern part of the UK is Ursus (Steve) at Black Bear, but that is over in Newmarket, Suffolk.... a long way, but worth the ride. Hope to meet you at Sammy Miller's on 22nd August... |

If you have the owner's handbook just follow the instructions to set it up for your weight. You can do some fine tuning from there to suit your personal preference but you'll probably find the feel transformed with just this initial step. Make sure your tyre pressures are correct as well. Steve |

More advanced stuff - https://www.buell.com/en_us/_media/pdfs ... ension.pdf (after you've set it up to the factory settings and had a ride around) |
