I have read a number of times on differant forums about the engine being rotated to remove the front spark plug, this is also the described method in the manual.

It is not neccessary, i replaced mine today in about half an hour

Remove air box cover and all of the enclosure, remove the intake snorkel, this gives you just enough room to remove the front coil and gain access to the spark plug.

See video, all of 1 minute to remove the coil :D sorry about poor quality but it's all i had at the time, and i was on my own.

Just click the large image.

I hope this helps a few of you save some cash and time.

you gonna stick this vid in yer sandpit Nick ?

Would do, but nobody looks at it, thinking about migrating everything from there into the Tech Section. Best to let people use the search engine I think.

I find it hard to beleive that the dealers have not tried such a method ? It does put a bit of stress on the rubber end of the coil pack and i suppose that in time when it gets more brittle there would be a chance of it ripping and therefore be a extra cost/charge to the dealer or customer ?

But even so, the time saved over the many that wont tear, or possibly never has to be a huge saving.

I have heard that the water pump is also replaceable without removing the headers, therefore not needing to rotate the engine too :) If my leak gets worse, which it will i shall video this too when i get round to doing it.
