Post subject:  Well it was fun,

a great sound track, stuck to the road like glue, nibbling at jap fours in the bends but I can no longer live with the rubbish engineering of the xb anymore.
Lads n' girls I'm defecting and will be collecting a Falco on saturday.
In the past year I have spent enough to keep a jap bike or even a Ducati on the road for years so before it went pop I have traded it in.
Very embarrased, wallet is still in depression and an earfull from the Mrs.
I wish to thank every one here for there help esp Pash, Maz and Adam.
I don't wish to leave this good place just yet, you aint getting rid of me that easy!

Check the for sale section for some bits later or tomorrow.

Nate.

Yes tis sad.

A good bike I had an RSV-R. A great engine. I have a couple of tips on them if of any help.

Does the new bike have an Aprila warranty.

At least it's still a V-twin. ;)

Just out of interest (I am still addicted to my XB after 16200 miles). How far had you gone on XB's before you were lured away? :o

Not very far at all, don't get me wrong I love riding it. Once the suspension is set up they handle great.
Just the way they make m'. If I was totally ignorant of mechanics and rich enough to just send it in when it goes wrong then it could stay but thats not the case.
As Maz say's "should of brought a tuber cabbage "

Falcos are ace. Make sure you change the cans and rear spring.

What Spook said. I loved my Falco. Best bike I've ever owned...until I discovered this Buell thing.

A Falco with aftermarket cans sounds the business - don't know why, but it's even better than the RSV-R or Tuono.

Get yourself on clubaprilia.net. It's nowhere near as lively as this place, but there are some good people on there who know their stuff.

Cheers fellers, I'll try anything before I'll go back to a four!
A freind has a tuono he built from a crashed mille and then crashed it twice more and then did a tour of france. 28000 miles. Two other pals have milles and futuras and have done about 50000 on one futura with no major problems etc etc.

Apart from cubes whats the difference between the 1125 buell engine and the aprillia v twin?

Post subject:  Re: Well it was fun,

Falcos are great and cheap to buy, shouldn't be too expensive to own either.

Buells may have a unique riding "experience" but cost per mile when using regular dealers are utterly insane for what it is, even if the thing doesn't break. It's a little ironic to read about Erik's desire to build vehicles for the masses like Honda and unlike Ferrari, but not many people are prepared to pay Ferrari-level cost for C90 level-performance

Enjoy the Aprilia, and if you have a few grand left to spare get yourself a late M2, a box of tools and a service manual to enjoy full Buell fun on a budget 8-)
