i need a new front tyre for my XB12 ( sorry ) local bike dealer not HD has said a Pirelli Angel will do as a trade off against disance and grip,, but the Pirelli site recomends Diablo's or better

Diablos or better? Nothing better IMO. Original fitment to the bike, works well, good compromise between mileage/grip/dry/wet. I know the Angel is quite new and could be awesome but for know the Diablo is a really good tyre for the bike.

Looks like the Pirelli-badged version of the new Metzeler Z6 Interact, like the former Diablo-Strada was of the Z6 Roadtec. These will work very well, it's unlikely you'll ever get anywhere near the limits of those tyres on a Buell

Dickyserv, i got a pair of dunlop road smarts for £196 fitted as the 2500 miles on the standard sportmax was at an end , I'm very hard on my tyres and like the grip for roundabout surfing and 400 miles so far and they are brill IMO dry or wet , felt good from the start quick warm up etc , no chicken strips on back tyre and about 1" on front and reports of 5000 miles reached with a mixture of motorway and spirited riding but i heard you ride like a girl so these may not suit

i couldn't get my hands on original diablos so i put rossos on. i wouldn't have anything else now.don't go for anything lesser in the pirreli range than the original diablo(forget about the strada,it's not up to the performance requirements of the bike) cheers.......

So, would anybody like to comment on if the Angel's are any good ?

I have the Angels fitted to my Busa. Not sure about fitting them to my Buell. On the Busa they seem a good tyre on both wet and dry. Good grip and seem to be good on wear levels. Have supercorsa's fitted to the S1.

Let us know how the Angels work out if you get them......several in my locality, me included use Pilot p2 ....Diablos I am lucky on the 12 to get 2000 mile, with duel compound found P2's much better....take a while to bed in tho

trying to decide between these and road attacks

The local Suzuki garage told me that guys on the GSXR1000s are getting >6k miles out of them.

I fitted them to my XB12, rode 50 miles and did a trackday - never had any grip issues - even full throttle out of corners and that was brand new tyres. You'd never ride them that hard on the road - even kneedown round roundabouts.
They have excellent wet weather grip, heat up qucikly and lose grip gradually.
I'd expect 7-10k miles out of them too.

Was out with some guys on Supercorsas when it rained. They did not have an enjoyable time, and my bacon roll had arrived and was finished by the time they showed up to the cafe and unpuckered their arses.

They're a new tyre, and technology is moving on quickly in the bike tyre world. No reason not to get them - I'd reckon they're the best 'real world' tyre out there just now.

After almost 4.5k miles and 4 track days I'm considering replacing my 2CT's with some more 2CT's.

Yet you could be saying "after 4 trackdays and 7k miles I'm considering changing my angels for more angels"

Cannot understand the concept of "A good compromise between grip and mileage".

It's not a car.

As I've found out, trying to get a more economical tyre life will ruin the enjoyment of the bike. Harder compounds just don't warm up enough and are crap in the wet.

Fit Diablos, or try the Road Attack 2's.
