has any one fitted or experianced the 08 kit was toying with the idea as i miss the acceleration of my il 4's but dont know weather il be fed up with the low top end? |

Are we talking here of a primary reduction kit? If so.... Yes I fitted one to me M2 three years ago... Despite concerns that it would up the transmitted torque to the gearbox.... I found that I no longer had to slip the clutch any where as near, in first, in traffic... And made acceleration a bit more usable. As fer top end.... 10% reduction on 145mph.... No problem fer me......

Agree with Madrat, did it on my M2 in the past  Big improvement, especially around town and out on the A and B roads, does raise revs at Motorway speeds but all depends what you do most of?Other option change the rear pully. Did have concerns if the gearbox could take the change but had no problem but then again was not thrashing it around a track or riding it to its limits. For me that at the time was the best improvement pound for pound I could have done, well that and the Mikuni carb conversion 2 thumbs up for that one.

This is for an XB though, so pulley and Mikuni are out and generally the XBs do not suffer the same driveability problems that teh Euro geared tubers do, so the question is, do you really need it? Or is it a case of learning to ride the bike with the torque delivery it has? As for teh Trojan kit, would the XB9 primary drive give you the same effect? Not checked the primary drive ratio, but I am guessing they are different. |

i belive the primary kit from trojan is the xb 9 primary from wat ive read? ive tried riding it different ways i just seem to run out of road weather i short shift or let it rev out roads where i can normally hit 110>120 before braking im only getting to a tonne so thts what made me think its the acceleration that needs altering for me? |

Just an  but have you experimented with different riding positions, getting really well tucked in can help the revs ( and speed ) pic up quicker in top gear, specially on bikes with minimal fairing.

I missed a word out Pash- I don't think he's asking for 100's of Hp Ash, I just think he wants a bit more acceleration ......Nowt wrong with that IMO
