My S1 has not run for a few months and has not really been used for a year or so.
I went to start her up, all that happened was I ran the battery down.
On to the Optimate she went... Whipped out the plugs (how easy was that compared to an XB
), and turned her over. They sparked fine, but they had not been wetted and there was no smell of fuel coming from the plug holes.Next job, whip off the carb... Pulled it apart and found loads of gooey mess (breather mod here I come), lots on the idle mixture screw taper... Out with the carb cleaner, then back together.
Hit the starter button and she roared into life. Bit of tinkering with the idle mixture screw (old skool TPS reset
) and the throttle stop screw and she was ticking over like a champ...I never knew how much I would miss the simplicity of carbs....

Yep, carbs are the future 
and that was a very old Citroen CX.
