Hi All

My wife and I are taking a trip from London to Inverness on my buell Ulysses at the end of the month but I’m being thrown around by the wind when I do speeds over 90mph. is there any suggestions for a decent touring screen for the uly?

Love the bike but I’m sick of the wind.

There's the Zero Gravity option or the Kawasaki ER option.

But, if buffeting is your problem, I suggest taking the screen off completely. Try it, it's free. 8-)

What police! Never saw any a couple of weeks ago or the year before only the two at Tarbet whilst waiting for a ferry, one of them wanted to know what riding on a M-way was like :shock:

It stops you being banged around, the pressure is stronger but it is constant so, IMO, less tiring on the neck and a lot quieter.

With the screen on the wind hits right under the crash helmet causing the buffeting. Without it hits you in the chest spreading the load.
The slightly taller screen om the xt is a bit better but still causes buffeting.

I'm 6foot 5" so if the XT's taller screen does'nt help you much its not going to help me much.... Thank you just saved myself £70

Without wishing to make offers on Goldy's behalf, nor on being likened to some minty chocolate, I don't think you two are a million miles apart so a borrow might be possible. (Bringing jaffa cakes & beer might help :wink: )

I am 6 7 with the STD screen on a Uly and get it in the chest so not a problem. I find the trick is to lean into the wind, more or less, given the speed you are doing. I also find that the right helmet is needed. My Aria is great but my HJC is not. Also do not lean on or grip the bars to much as this can cause the wheel wobble thing.

Back to topic. I did try a Cee Baily screen. Good quality and it would have worked but to short for me. The trouble with my height is that I need a barn door and that makes the bike look like crap. On the other hand it is easy to change out on the Uly for a trip away. Smart arse Uly :lol:.

At a 100 I find the STD screen is fine, Aria lid, but anything past 160 is a bit of a problem ;).

You could always try riding at less than 90? I sit at a steady 75 on the m-way. Comfy, and I get 160 miles to the tank.
