Took my 1125CR in to have a new cam chain tensioner fitted as part of a recall. When they came to fit the part they noticed the plastic guide and tensioner had started to get shredded by the chain and all the bits have got passed the little filter screen and made their way into the engine internals. It is a full engine strip and rebuild and my bike will be on the bench for weeks. Dealer has said they will give me a refund on the bike if i want or I can wait it out and see the result. I am probably going to get my money back as this bike has been nothing but trouble. I appreciate that new bikes have bugs and all the rest but enough is enough. It is only 2 months old and has 1000 miles on the clock. Anyhow, if you ride a CR it might be worth checking out if your bike needs this recall. |

Sorry to read of your problems, Ben, but at least it looks like the dealer has offered to do the right thing for you. ![]() |

I feel for you, that's really sad. But take the money is the best bet, I think. Good luck. |

If it's 2 months old, then it should have been sorted before you took delivery of it ![]() Don't be fooled by the jargon used in the 'tensioner recall' either. They don't fit a new tensioner made from decent material, all they do with the recall is fit a weaker spring so the chain chews it up slower (and you get the problems when it's out of warranty ![]() ![]() |

Could the 1125 be the bike that breaks Buell? |

Rotax have produced a potentially excellent motor here, it could be a classic like the TL was. If only they could get it sorted, instead of using customer feedback to get things done. In the USA, they seem to be burying their head saying, 'isn't it great that we have a company that listens to and is proactive with its customers'. Not what you want to hear when you've shelled out the thick end of £8k and it keeps going back to the dealers. A motor should have gone past its development stage where serious problems are still occuring by the time its released to the public. What I can't understand is, allowing official company demo bikes out on test rides while they leak hydraulic fluid. It was embarrasing at Stafford to listen to the negative comments from punters about this. The bimbos just smiled and said they didn't know anything (about bikes in general actually ![]() ![]() When I said I owned one and loved it, people looked at me as if I was bit strange ![]() ![]() |

Adam, then we must both be strange as I have no intension of dumping mine at the moment - although it does seem as if Benw3 is going back to a V Rod ... ... a person of impeccable taste I'd say ! ![]() ![]() |
