Anyone out there with words of wisdom about the best tyres for my 2009 spec Uly? My originals were Pirelli Diablos (which looking back were fine)- now have Michelin Pilot Road 2's? Have had the Michelins on former bikes - not sure about their suitability for the Uly? Would something like a a Metzeller Tourance be a good choice - had these on a Triumph Tiger a few years back - and they were brilliant! Any thoughts? |

I had one of the first Uly's, when the Dunlops wore out I put Contiforce's on it and the difference was amazing, not sure if you'd notice that much difference with what you have on yours currently though tbh. |

We've only used Pirelli Scorpions since new on our 08 XB12X - a great all-round ( ) tyre and well suited to the bike. |

I use Pirelli Angel STs - good grip in wet and dry (good enough for trackday) and last a very long time - rears about 6-7k miles. Scorpions are old now, things have moved on - all 2010 XBs had Angel STs as OEM. |

Thanks all for your tyre wisdom folks! Once the weather clears/drys/unfreezes and I'm back on the road - and if I remain doubtful about my current tyre set up - I now have a good idea of alternatives. Gotta few longish trips already planned for the summer - roll on Spring & Summer!!! |

Got to stick my nose in. As if you hadn't enough to think about here is another option. I have put around 2000 kms on Metzeler roadtech Z8s. Great grip wet or dry, cant see any sign of much wear yet.Very stable at high speeds. |
