Gents Has anyone any advice to importing a bike from the US. I have look on various sites about this as there is a nice white lightning for sale at present and wondered how hard / much it can be. Cheers |

Fairly easy. Contact Schumachers and they pretty much do everything for you.http://www.schumachercargo.com/ Work on it costing you about £1500 ( that's what it cost me), and get the seller to give you a receipt for $1200 instead of $5000, because that helps reduce the amount of duty you will pay. Schumachers can also arrange collection of the bike to port. Also build in the factor that the average American is suspicious of overseas buyers. |

It would be wise to actually see the bike as I have gone a long way to see a good -condition bike for it to turn out a bit ruff in real life. There are S1`wls out there for £4000 that you can spend money on that may be a better way to go, best bits may already be on it. Prozac thought about selling his .viewtopic.php?f=10&t=9365 |
