Just wondering is there a tool that can be used on the side of the road, to get the isolator out to change a belt (if neccesary) without having to lift the frame.

This has always been a worry, ie breaking one in the middle of nowhere, you can carry a spare belt but fitting it ----- hmmmm .

Just carry a RAC/ AA card.
You will not be fixing it at the roadside. If you ride like a pussy, you should get 25,000+ miles out of it, if you ride hard / wheelie etc. you should be looking to replace it at 17-20000 (or 50 miles before it breaks ).
Definitely worth considering as part of a planned maintenance shedule, rather than just waiting / fearing it to happen, no different to a car cam belt really.
The later Goodyear (XB) belts will last even longer on a tuber and they are cheaper to buy.

I honestly have no idea. I've never seen how a belt got changed at a tuber.

That tool would be OK if it showed how it worked and how to buy one

so what does Maz think of this tool?. does it compress the isolator on the left side of the frame enough to pop the right hand isolator out?

That tool looks like it would work fine, I made something similar a couple of weeks back to change my M2 belt,did the job in about an hour ,worst bit was getting the bloody hugger screws out of the belt side,the rear footrest mounts are right in the way ,had to drop the shock out to lower the swinging arm.
However, if you overdo the nearside isomount compression by useing too much force you will wreck the frame, so if your kak handed don't try this at home.
You only compress enough to just slide the offside mount out.
Typical,isn't it? I only suss out the worst M2 job ,just before I sell it, in fact Andrew the new owner rang me to say he would have the bike ,just as I got home from recovering the bike with it's spapped belt.
