Got the bike back today from SilverstoneHD. Had a good chat with Steve who shone a light :sun: on the sidestand issue as he sees it (and gave me my bike back working nicely, thank you very much). He did NOT replace the sensor as it wasn't at fault!
The bolt in the sidestand is to alter the voltage in/thru the Hall sensor. The bolt and sensor weren't quite aligned. Steve re-aligned, plus the bolt benefited from a washer to bring it closer to the sensor. Now the bike knows when the frikkin stand is up and lets me at all those horses
Apparently the sensor has a 5V feed (and an earth and a feedback), so no need to protect it.

To summarise - if/when you get a "S STAND SYS ERR", you've got to get that bolt lined up just right and tight to the sensor. Wish I knew that a few weeks ago!

Very very good allround service from Silverstone - Again  . It's hard to be pissed off as much when people are doing their best to help, so I'm happy again.

Gonna superglue a bolt-head to that sensor and be done with it

Noticed that you can disconnect the sensor and it will let you ride

5 minutes tinker and you're back on the road :yup: - probably a better solution than shorting the clutch sensor as I suggested :oooops:

I thought it only fair to say I've been banging the CR to work and back, and also on a few jollies, with no faults/hiccups/burps/farts. Just pure childish pleasure.
Everyone should get one, especially as you only need 5k for a very low miler

Still haven't had the sidestand sensor done - just unpluged the bastid thing!

Bike is proper. proper, proper joy. If it blows up tomorrow I'll be happy with the memories...

and the fact it's under warranty ;)

Any other faults from other 1125ers?

Cheers,

Went through another rear indicator - that's 2 on the same side ! Second one lasted less than 2 weeks ! Has been replaced under warranty. To be fair though both indicators were early ones - Buell have refined them to improve longevity - but is is interesting that on 2010 models they've reverted to ordinary bulbs in their indicators ...

Also had new seals fitted for the clutch leak - so far so good.

Unfortunatey they absolutely refuse the rear tyre, even though it's wearing out :)
