Did it break? My S1 still has original shock  I was 2 up at the weekend which is very rare for me so hopefully it will cope with my normal riding. Have forum members seen many actual failures? I was made redundant a while ago so budget to replace it is zero.

Was anyone else here at Weymouth beach racing on Sunday?

It didn't break, he hit a brick in the road doing about 85. we stopped to check the wheel rims and noticed the shock bleeding to death!... lOl

That's a result :yup: .......take note R.W !

......however, strictly speaking, as the original shock already had the SRP kit fitted, it wasn't subject to the safety recall as H-D/Buell considered the shock made safe with the kit.

Sounds like a result on the shock but how are those wheels if you hit a brick at 85

Yes thats the one. Good job the racing went ahead this year,
Was meaning to post on the s1 photo page but cant find it.

Reading Chris reply: "The WP is at least rebuild-able - and if it's lasted 10 years - my guess is it's OK" reassures me a bit, I prefer the look of it too.

Hi, new to this so don't know if this should be a new topic but, I bought a new standard Buell shock from the states for my S1. A couple of days after fitting it the remote reservoir slide out from the clip and hit the road. :tosser: It spun so hard that it undid the bolt holding on the hose from it to the shock releasing the gas and oil. Can the shock be refilled with oil and re-gassed?

There shouldn't be any reason why a suspension expert can't do that for you ,no different to it being filled when built.

I don't know if this could help but I have a 1998 S1WL original shock in good order that I will sell for a small fee. Its 380mm in length.
:santamaz: does this fit.
