I really should have looked at the exploded diagram as well as the section before I started asking daft questions. Still, got a decent answer though.
Do you think if I got a plug machined up with a threaded, countersunk hole in it to accept a set screw (to allow oil to be added) it would work? I don't fancy having a grease nipple poking out through the pulley cover.

Oh, you were right about the frame......Norvin (bought it off Ogri) :)

I had a NorVin in a Wideline Featherbed. Never seen one in a Slimline and didn't know it was possible without cutting the front downtubes :? . Has yours got the Vinnie box or has it been chopped to fit an AMC/Norton etc box? How did you get past the gusseting at the rear of the motor - hopefully not by using the once fashionable 'slotting' trick? Got any larger photos? What spec is the motor in?
I had 2 front heads, an Alpha crank, Lightning cams and Specialoid pistons in mine + chopped box, Commando clutch and alternator. Started using GP carbs, they worked well but were unsuitable for road use, so I went back to Concentrics.

Paul Sample lives in a village called Ash, not too far away from Oswestry and he's got a Sunbeam S7 bobber in his cellar - but it's not very nice

Sorry to disappoint Adam, but it's not really mine (though I'm sure you're right about the frame and carbs and such like). I wish it was mind you, it was a beauty. I was it at the Kent Show in Detling a couple of years ago. I got the impression it was a regular at the show along with a bunch of classic Indians (leather belt drive, acetylene lights etc). Amost all of the bikes that were on show were actually ridden there, including the Indians. The show's on mid july
