So ahead of potentially taking my bike to HD to be looked at, can anyone shed any light on this?

My CEL was lit when I started my bike and remains on.

The manual doesn't offer any help other than to say I need to see a Buell Dealer... useful!

Any ideas what it's on for?

I have recently fitted a Sabre Exhaust with the exhaust valve still in use (about 300-400 miles ago), the bike was serviced only 1000m ago...

Is there anything I can check?

And I assume it's nothing that drastic that riding it for the next few days won't hurt/do any damage?

Hmm... not had time to check the error codes however my cooling fan didn't come on at all this morning, which it should have done.

If I were a betting man I'd say that's the culprit

Fan fuse blown.

New fuse fitted.

'Check Engine Lamp' off.

Smile on.

But why did the fuse blow?

Could be a chafed wire shorting out?

Hmm... So I;ve come back form holiday and driven to work (the first time since replacing the Fan fuse) and it didn't come on all the way to work.

The Check Engine Lamp hasn't come on and the fuse is fine, just no fan.

Anything I can check? Is there a way to force it to come on to check it's working?

Old fan out, new fan in, problem solved

The old fan had seized completely solid. No sign of any oil/dirt/grime that may have caused it... I guess it was just knackered.

And all is well again.
