Recently took bike to a local company who make aftermarket lights and various other bits for bikes, to see if they could help with the single dip\main headlight problem (if you see it as one that is..). One of their current reflector units fitted pretty much straight into the XB12's light housing, (which easily comes apart with a little heating...) I opted to have their chrome trim added to the front of the housing, (see pics). The reflectors take H4 bulbs, so twin main/dip. http://www.simpson-detour.co.uk/ The Buell pictured on the site is my one that they "experimented" on to sort design. It can be seen with and without the chrome trim. Think they can do black trim too. Also wired lights straight from battery adding switch to turn off low beam, to help with starting. I got an extra loom from the US: H4 Dual Headlight Relay Kit with LO Beam On/Off Switching http://www.easternbeaver.com/Main/Produ ... _kits.html and a switch from the same site... Now for me it looks right with the lights on and also can see at night too, high beam is a dream compared to what came before... Buell system after a spell in the oven. Nice. Is it a big improvement? What did it cost you for the lights? |

Big improvement yes, I think wiring through relays direct to the battery helps a bit too. They used my housing to experiment on and develop it, so it was done at cost for me. Looks like they are charging about £140 from the other post about them. |

Been looking hard at those photos. Can't see an "€" mark. Is there one?. |
