Are these air filters about the same or is one better than the other?

Cheers in advance :yup:

Both are very big names in the filter market, IMO its all about personal choice 8-)

I've seen various filters on a flow bench. The K+N seemed to be the least restrictive but it didn't really compare filtering qualities.

Hey Adam, remember that link someone posted years ago with the test on a BMW, they tested a standard filter against a K&N, the standard worked better than the K&N once both were a little dirty-the standard had almost twice as many pleats as the K&N, they also said the K&N let more particles through :!: (though we are talking microns in size!)

Just spoken to Matt at Trojen and he told me that when Pipercross developed their filter they modeled it on the K&N and slightly modernised it.

Isn't the Pipercross foam? The K+N is oiled fabric.

I just checked and it is foam. So they modeled it and slightly modernised it by using completely different materials :?:

I asked here first then phoned Trojen.

Both filters are reusable but Trojen said he thought air flows better through the Pipercross. My initial question was in regard to performance more than anything else?

You're barking up the wrong tree there with an aircooled long-stroke pushrod motor, fella!

Buy a Hayabusa?
