Post subject:  Choke question?

Hi fellow Bullers,

I just got hold of an awesome 2005 xb12s and am getting to speed with the engine bit's and bobs. When i removed the tank I found that there is what i presume to be some sort of choke or engine fuel management device. It's the small plastic unit with a cable that fits to a cam housed in the foam under the tank. Now when i took the tank of i found the cable was loose and has a cable tie holding it in a certain position. I wondering if I should reattach it and remove the cable tie that is attached to the wire preventing it from returning or just wait until i get the service i am planing in a couple of weeks time?
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Hi Alex welcome
sounds like the active exhaust flap control
it closes a flap in the exhaust to quiet in in a low rev urban mode
most leave it fixed open
