I've got a weird intermittant problem.

Today I was doing 50mph, holding it around 4,500 revs, and it started surging, which got progressively worse til the bike was coughing and spluttering. I had to brake and change down for it to stop.

It has done it at lower speeds as well. But not noticed it above 60mph.

It only happened 3 times today over a 300+ mile jaunt................

Everything is standard, and it definitely had the 08 'reflash' a couple of weeks ago.

And since the reflash there's been a couple of times when I start it up and the bike is idling all over the place, and even chugs until it stalls, but again it's only intermittant.

Anybody got any ideas??

Got to be worth a try on the throttle reset. Easy on a 08 model yes fellers?
Look up Lands ends recomendations for a hard reset too.
After that if no change swap the relays around to see if anything changes.

HTH.

Nate.

Rawnie if your not sure give the dealer a phone.
Try the tps reset and see if that makes it any better.

Ummm, this has only been happening since I had the 'reflash' of the ECM done, and they checked the TPS settings at the time. In all other ways it's running a whole lot better than it was before the 'reflash'. Better at low speeds, and the nasty hesitation around 5,000 revs has gone.

It really doesn't happen that often, but when it does it's pretty scary as the bike starts jerking, and I get bounced around in the seat.

Give the delaer a phone and see what they say and then take it from there.

You know what, that does sound like a dicky relay!!
Might be worth replacing them, not much purps and they are made from cottage cheese inside.
