Hi there hope someone can help I need to know which Ebc pads are for the front on a 2001 X1 I think from what I can find they are EBC FA424HH but would love someone to confirm this before I buy some Thanks Ps yes I tried calling the emporium but there's no answer. |

My S1 has just had 249HH fitted by Maz - it is the same Nissin caliper to the best of my knowledge, so I do think you need someone who is certain, as I *think* the ones you suggest are not right. |

The EBC catalogue - http://www.ebcbrakes.com/Assets/EBC2009intlmccat.pdf - says that FA242HH are the correct pads for later S1s and X1s. 249s appear to fit Performance Machine calipers (but not the one fitted to early S1s which take an FA210) All info from the catalogue... |

All 98 onwards have NISSIN. IIRC. |

Yep, my 97 S1 has a PM caliper, but not the PM one that (if you believe the EBC catalogue) the 249s fit. The PM caliper on mine takes FA210s which have an allen screw centre top and two split pin retained clevis pins either side (can't be too careful eh?). |

The earlier <96 bikes also had a PM caliper but a different type caliper. I do not know the pad type for those. Very early bikes with Marzocchi RWU forks had twin EFB (Buell) front calipers.Somewhat worryingly, the rear caliper was a Gambler I kid you not |

Correct pads for the X1 are 249 HH. Pad for the PM caliper is 210......they dont do a sintered version so not HH. |

Post subject: | Re: Buell S3T front ebc pads |
I have a '97 S3T Pre-Thunderstorm heads with 'Buell by WP' forks and the caliper saying 'Buell' but without the Pegasus logo. Having read this thread I ordered the EBC Prolite disk with FA210 pads as per the EBC website as my original had worn to the point of sounding like a bag of spanners. Seeing this reference "However, here's a tip........XB rear rotor screws (CA0005.9A7) are shouldered and come in packs of six for a grand total of $12" I also ordered these bolts. I assumed the disk would come without countersinking so that I could use these bolts but was surprised when it came countersunk and I was able to use the original bolts, so far so good. However, the FA210's with the 2 clevis holes don't fit as my pads only have a single central hole. Should I have ordered the 249HH's? I don't get it as I thought these were for '98 onwards? |

Two hole pads are for PM caliper (1997) Single hole for Nissin (1998-2002) 97 to 99 discs were countersunk (6 bobbin) 00 to 02 discs were counterbored (9 bobbin - can use the shouldered XB screws) |

Thanks Pash. I was puzzled as I didn't think it would have the Nissin ('98) caliper with it being a '97 S3T. |

Maybe it is a 97 that someone wanted to be able to stop on... Or is it a 98 model on a 97 plate? |
