or does this not sound right? i know its not a good quality recording, but it doesn't sound right to me, but i don't have the money to take it anywhere.

I took the albert can off and put the standard can back on to try and quieten down the exhaust for the video... normally doesn't sound right when you turn it off either but typically it didnt do it this time...

hope the video works

lOl good song!

Currently in Corby, I don't know of anyone near here, and can't ride it to meet anyone as I can't afford to tax it if it is unhealthy... So anyone fancy a UKBEG rideout to Corby! :D I'll supply cups of tea (but we only have 5 mugs so if theres more you'll have to share....

Have to admit, between removing the albert can and fitting the standard I couldn't resist just starting it.... sounded good...

Had no experience of them, but they're fairly close to you ...

... and IIRC they've been mentioned favourably in the past on here ...

I thought that sounded ok :)

Maybe not always running as evenly as it could at the constant-ish low throttle opening between 16 and 25 seconds or so, but then Buells don't run evenly by design! And if you haven't been using it recently, and just started it up at home without going for a long ride and getting it warmed up properly then that's probably that. Or it was just my imagination anyway!

Apart from that, just sounds like the usual Buell-with-standard-can spluttery sound with normal valve noise to me.

Can you describe what part of the noise is it that you think is suspect? (difficult I know, without inventing strange new onomatopoeic words and spitting all over your computer lOl )

Just in case you don't know, a new tax disc wouldn't be entirely wasted money - you can get a refund on a tax disc.... but it's a bit of a palaver and you only get paid for the number of whole months remaining  at the lower rate of the 12 month disc even if you bought a 6 month one  and it can take 6 weeks to get the money back  ... But I guess you'd get £30.85 back for 5 months, from a 6 month £40.70 tax disc, unless there are some other charges that I don't know about...???

I seem to remember that :maz: was known to diagnose faults by just listening to a bike over the phone!! Or was that just in jest? :)

Thanks, I'd forgotten I could get a refund on the tax disc.

Reason for the rough exhaust note, it's not been ridden on the road since the start of last october, and that was the first time it was run with that exhaust so the ECM hasn't adjusted the fuelling.

As for the noise, it's really hard to describe, the best I can think of is, it sounds like there's something loose inside the engine, not a tapping noise, can't really describe it, unfortunately the video really didn't pick up on the noise, so unless you know what your listening for, you wont hear it.

The noise when I normally turn it off it the engine keeps turning over a few times after hitting the kill switch, so you can just hear the engine internals moving/rotating a couple of times without any other noise to cover it up.
