When the engine is warm :s not desperately worried about it, more bemused, baffled, or even amused. Only started happening recently.

Check the connector under the front sprocket. Mine was loose after a trip to the dealers for some warranty work and I saw the same effects...

It's quite common for it to fail and you have to remove the front sprocket to change it.
Funnily enough though mines stopped working for a while and now it's okay again.

Don't know about the clearance on other models but on the 12X you can modify a socket to be offset a little and it works a treat. When mine started playing up (it can also cause the machine gun starter symptom) I changed it when I had the rear wheel off doing a tyre change and with the belt out of the way it is literally a five minute job.
