I think I must have got lost, this place looks kind of familiar, I'm sure I've been here before ... a long, long time ago! Does anyone have any experience of converting to a left handed throttle? Twist or thumb. I've posted on NABD, but their site isn't exactly buzzing, so I thought I'd ask here. |

Nope but i have seen it done on CB200 hondas on the wall of death of all places ..... I've always assumed this was to match the throttles on their old Indians, so have often wondered whether some vintage bikes came laft throttle equiped as standard . |

Nope just Indians I think. So that coppers could shoot their pistols as they rode them. Don't know what left handers did though. |

Thought of maybe trying a L/H switch assembly with a choke lever? |

A decent engineering shop should be able to knock one up for you without too much trouble, Eric. It's only a mirror image of a standard one. ![]() |

I think you can flip some throttles up the other way for use on the L/H bar, and they still pull open towards you. It's just a matter of picking the right twistgrip assembly to use in the first place. I repped for NABD for over six years 1999-2006, and had several mates with left or right side bar control swaps. Try ringing the head office number at Manchester, and leave a message for Rick Hulse. |

Dunno if youve managed to resolve this yet, but you could try a twistgrip from a jap bike - my xt 600 had a push pull arrangement using 2 cables. if you swapped it to the left side the throttle close cable would become the open cable and vise versa. Jim C |

Jim C ...why has no one thought of that before?... |
