Have suddenly developed a flat spot between 4500 and 5000 that wasn't there before. Just a slight hesitation then it takes off . Regularly do the TPS reset as it is an '08 and no ECM required and run it consistantly on 97 octane. Any thoughts? |

Wide open throttle? Part throttle? Engine warmed up? |

Did that to me probably twice. Both times I put it down to my impatience, the bike hadn't been gently warmed up. |

Nah well warmed up and mid to full throttle, well into a ride- doesn't seem to die before taking off again , almost like a delayed throttle with no spluttering or nonsense- strange one...."Earth calling Maz, Earth calling Maz" |

Hi Shugito, All the 08's had this flat spot when the new DDFI 3 injection system was released. It was the bane of my life as customers were always complaining and there was not a lot I could do as it was a fueling issue. Company were denying any problems, but we had many updated fuel maps coming through on digitech for some time, that I was updating every bike when it came in, so they new something was amiss Anyway, make sure you have the latest map on your ECU, as it did seem to clear the problem for most, although it will change the use of the Fan, which will come on as you ride and go off under 15 mph then come on above that speed. A dealer will be able to check this for you and update for free, if not, come to Black Bear and we will, although probably not you most ideal solution with the distance I'm sure. If your Fan already does this, and dosen't come on after switch off ( another effect), then you already have the update and you may have to look elsewhere. EBR race Ecu or something?, I've heard good results from these. Is your Exhaust standard?, perhaps freer breathing system with 07 downpipes and K&N filter certainly improved things at the time. Hope this helps. Jon |

Oh ok, thanks Digger, well in that case it should be fairly up to date with the downloads, but I can't remember all the specifics done on the bike, it would be good to check the current download that is on the ECU with digitech. The Remus is a good can, but unsure if it was the 08 can we fitted, as opposed to an earlier Remus on 07 down pipes, I tend to think it was the former. Feel free to phone me at BB, I'll look into your bikes history tomorrow to see if I can come up with any other thoughts. Jon |

Jon thanks a lot for the input, I`m going to change the air filter and see if that has any effect. It`s not bothering me that much at the moment as it is intermittent, but I`m monitoring it all the time to see if it gets more consistant. Once again thanks for the advice |

Are we sure this isn't the noise abatement kicking in? |
