Hello All. Got A M2 cyclone. Was running ok, untill the tap was switched to reserve (supposedly) Then decided it wanted to run like complete shit, cut out, was a bastard to start, wouldnt run off choke, would cut out under 2500 rpm etc etc. Completly rebuilt carb, new jets, removed tap, cleaned filter, new hose and repacked vance and hines. Then it would start on the button, choke would work but it poped and banged and hesitated like fuck untill 3000 rpm go like stink untill about 5000 rpm and then just be flat and not rev past it ! So Ive changed the intake seals for james ones, didnt run it for three weeks and no the fucker dosent even want to start, got petrol, go spark !!!! the above sounds alittle too me like ignition timing being out !!!! Voes switches as it should !!! Any ideas or the things going off beachy head. cheers ! |

Seems too obvious and doesn't explain all the symptoms ![]() I also had that sort of thing on my M2 caused by one of the wires from the ignition pickup sensor chafing against the engine/tranny casings (it's one of the wires going to a deutsch connector somewhere in front of the starter motor - think there's two deutsch connectors, one for the speedo sensor and another for the cam sensor pickup wires). |

greasemonkey wrote: when was it last switched to reserve ? Before being switched this time ? bought as a non runner, which had been standing for two years if that answers you question ! haha ! And to the others yes, im feeling ignition is the way forward. I bridged both the sidestand and clutch switch. |

Are the airways and slow running holes in the carb clear of petrol residue? |
