Ok, I'm only 5'8", with a 29"inside leg....
Clearly this would be too tall for me but will the low seat make it doable? Toes down would be fine, flat foot impossible I'd think.
Or would I need to do more radical stuff.
Ulysses seem to be more reasonably priced.......

I'm a bit taller, but the same applies to me.
XB12's are too expensive and seem to ship straight out to Germany.
You've asked a question I was going to post.
It must be a southern (Worthing) thing lOl

The Uly low seat is pretty low (compared to standard) and Digger isn't the tallest chap but he and Kath toured on his XT very nicely on it.

I'm not sure what dropping the forks through the yolks would do for stability at speed, the wheel base is already quite short .. ?

Try simplifying your search - "lowering" found this -

viewtopic.php?f=8&t=14344&hilit=lowering

and this -

viewtopic.php?f=8&t=13764&p=187613&hilit=lowering#p187613

and this -

viewtopic.php?f=7&t=9885&hilit=lowering

and there's probably more ...

So it can be done......
From what has been said, leave forks, buy €100 washer, buy lower seat and I'll have an xb type ulysees with many more to choose from in the market.
Or am I missing something.
Only looking at this due to shortage of xb12s for sale at anything near the ulysees prices.
Thanks so far.

Birdy, sounds like you are in a similar situation to where I was.

I love the XB12S (though for me the seating position was too cramped for my back)

I wanted the Uly's seating position, but preferred the XBS's looks.

So I customised a Uly to suit... More info here

Really simple to do...

- it lowers the Uly by a good inch and a bit
- The SS set is narrower and more comfy too
- You end up with what is essentially a taller XB12S
- total cost is about £200 (£100 for the seat and under tray, £100 for a tail light unit... or less)

And if I changed my mind, it'd take me an hour or so to put it all back to stock.

:yup:

There is a company in West Midlands that can take approx 2" out of your forks on a Ully. I will try and find their details.
