Bike walked off stand a while ago.

Time to replace frame puck.

Got one from HD in Dublin, home of the worlds most expensive 20W50 HD oil at over 11 euro a litre (or a quart).

Only to arrive home and see someone obviously was playing with this one...and removed a piece of the backing on one of the adhesive pads....then stuck a small white HD parts bag in its place.....result....now its well stuck.

Waitiing to hear of if they have another puck in stock.

Read a previous Frame Puck thread and someone mentioned getting the old puck off with fishing line method, down behind the puck and pull/saw...doesnt work !!

Any other suggestions to get the old puck off?

Will this leave sticky residue that I'll need to clean off...if so what will get it off ?

Thanks

Eric.

Got the old puck off....just got a screwdriver under the bottom edge of it and lifted and took a hold of it....it started to split a bit and leak that polystyrene type stuff but got it all off in one piece.

Frame was completely undamaged, wiped with meth spitits and stuck on new puck - looks goods as new again.

Eric.

Got mine from Harley in Dublin...they had 2 left hand ones...the first one had an empty small HD parts bag stuck on it where the backing plastic came off...I brought it back and got the other one...so they still have one but was proving to be a bugger to try get that parts bag off !!!

Eric.

Remember though that ebay is not the best place to be looking for brand new genuine spares ...... the best place is a Buell friendly Dealer like Black bear because they can soon tell you if the part you want is still available new from Harley ;)

IIRC frame pucks were fitted as standard on later models - so they are classed as a spare and not an accessory - so should still be available at your friendly dealer ...
