As I found mine snapped off, has anyone got pics of how it's mounted for when the new one arrives and do I need to drop the silencer to fit?

Did you loose the strap that broke? I ask because then you will need the bracket that the strap runs through to connects to a lug on the engine casing at the front. Also there are 2 inserts the sit in the lug which you may of lost as well!!!

Scan down this post and you will see!

Ha ha forget that I was being a numpty. The bracket is bolted to the engine so of course it didn't fall off !!!!!

Think I've got it now...looks like the oil filer needs to come off to access the bolt to loosen the exhaust strap bracket
Before I start, it's anti clockwise to loosen isn't it?

The oil filter doesn't need to come off.

? My socket will not get in past the oil filter... Just a standard size set, so I guess I need a wiggle bar?

There is a hex recess in the mount that prevents the nut from turning...

I was approaching from the other side, with a socket on the nut.
Is there an easier way?

Back away from those tools mate  ........even if you did get a socket on it, you couldn't turn it because it's captive.
Undo the cap head from the other side, it's 1/4'' allen.

Can't seem to download the last photo:

Can't really make out what the exhaust is but a strap is not going to be happy over that bracket.

You should be loosening from the other side, as Maz says, that nut is captive...
