I'm guessing probably not. Just noticed it when I was putting the cover on my bike. What's it for? That's the header pipe from the rear cylinder above it. http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/lh/photo/ ... directlink Bike is a 2007 STT |

So, it's just for venting air from the transmission? I was worried since the tubing has SAE on it which made me think of lubricants... I can replace/repair the tubing and cable tie it out of the way of the header? I've never noticed anything funny about how the bike runs. |

Hi a mod that i`ve done is to replace a short section of the tubing with 10mm copper pipe in way of the exhaust,so if it rubs again at least it won`t melt the rubber pipe...HTH |

If it's under warranty take it to the dealer to fix it. |

Yeah, well I think it might have happened when I fitted my exhuast. The cable for the interactive valve butterfly runs down the other side when you have this exhuast and I split a few cable-tied bundles to get it loose high enough. Is that tube normally cable tied together with the exhuast valve cable? Cos if it si, I can't realy take it to dealer under warranty since it was my fault... It is a pretty easy fix - I just ordered tubing to do the breather mod, so I can use some of that then cable tie it out of the way. But if it isn't normally bundled with the exhaust valve cable I'll get the dealer to fix it - need to go up to get some bits any way, plus the paint on my rear sprocket is flaking off. |

It only lets the box breave, no oil in there but it must be impervious to oil hence the sae markings. You could cut it lower down and add another length via a double ended hose tail and tie it away from the header. Nate |

pash wrote: What about water getting in? Ooh banana milkshake... Nah, because the way it is routed it is pushed against the header pipe. I was holding it down with my finger. So, is it meant to be cable tied together with the cable for the exhuast valve? |
