have decided to strip and rebuild the X1 after a few areas of corrosion on the frame and the need to fit a new oli pump drive gear, my question is can i leave the swing arm attached to the motor and remove the frame which is off for powdercoating Thanks...also is it possible to buy stainless rose joints for the tie bars... :yup:

......And it's important. ;)
Buy a digital vernier (they are cheap these days) and measure and record the distance between the centres.
Stainless may not be suitable for a stressed component.

I'm sure you think they are fine.....OK , let's start again.......the tie bars have rubber inserts......please explain to us what the nickel plating process consists of ......and how a chemi blacking co. would know anything about this :)
The 'bearings' in the tiebars spherical joints are RUBBER.......nickel plating requires parts to be heat treated and 'pickled' to ensure they're clean before the electro/chemical process can be applied.......how does any of these processes not destroy the rubber ??

My bike came with that one on it and they are very shiny so probably make your bike faster as well.
