Just bought one of these from Hein Gericke.
£72 sale price, starts my 900ss and 999s no probs. Not tried it on the Buell yet.

Good price ................interesting that it says not suitable for bikes with canbus though ...... that counts the 1125's out .

BE VERY CAREFUL. My experience so far is NOT free of intrigue. Though I'm convinced it's the future of batteries.

Keep an eye on how the alternator copes with it. Li batteries like a HEALTHY charging voltage. They don't handle slow (or low voltage) recharging very well. Low= under 14V

Many do not stabilise vehicle voltage very well either. If they're too small, they do not control spikes when the regulator switches - Sensitive electronics can go "pop". It's interesting to watch the voltmeter waggle.

I'm now running one in parallel with an AGM - and on an electronics free bike.

Also when they go wrong there's NO warning. Unlike lead-acid they don't fail slowly. And unless they use LiFePO4 technology - Going wrong usually involves flames.

I was warned off these by my local Ducati guru. He's seen some cooked ECU's shortly after a Li battery has been installed. Ducati now refuses to warranty the ECU if a Li battery has been fitted :?
Like Pash, I'm convinced they are the future, and my caving lights have been modified to use them with excellent results :yup:

Don't think I'll use it on the 999s as its not recommended for Canbus systems but im going to use it on the 888 and 900ss :yup:

Fit a voltmeter then. Really!. The chances of something electronic and voltage sensitive going pop is fairly high. I suppose you could fit a Zener Diode too.

I took advice from somebody on here and bought several of these http://www.ebay.es/itm/12v-Battery-Char ... 230967869f . They were made with different thresholds too. The guy who makes them knows his stuff.
