It wouldn't be straightforward, IIRC the M2 shifter hinges on the footpeg bracket and goes over the top. The XB shifter hinges near the clutch cable hole and links from underneath. I think the simple answer to the question would be no

X1 I take it you mean? The up and over should fit, the 'revised' one from 2001 and newer bikes is too long. One off an S3 will fit though... |

No such thing as 'won't fit' but it isnt a direct replacement. |
