I've just gone to order the 'preferred' pad for my '98 S3T which as we all know by now is the FA249HH from EBC. They have told me that I don't want that one I want the FA424HH as these are slightly thinner than the FA249HH which were a little to thick. Anyone else come across this?

Just had this email reply from EBC:

According to EBC's latest bike catalogue FA424 is listed for your bike and should be the correct pad.

FA249 is now listed as an aftermarket caliper fitment, it isn't listed for any particular model, which means FA424 is the pad for the standard Nissin caliper
.

What I don't get is that the height of the FA424 pad is 39.1mm and the height of the FA249 pad is 51.5mm. Does that matter? Maz?

thanks!

You have probably seen these already...

And as you have probably already seen, they look the same, they have the same nominal dimensions... But the tabs on the FA249 is not as 'high' and neither is the part recommended for Buell...

Thanks Pash.....basically the 424 is the new 249 with longer 'ears' which means the ret. spring plate no longer needs grinding to suit :)
