Afternoon all,(newbie question time, sorry) Emptied the old fuel out of my tank on the X1, refilled with fresh fuel and it doesnt seem keen on starting !, there is a good spark. Does the system need bled as I emptied all the fuel out of the filter and line as well. What does the schraeder valve at the tank do below the fuel outlet? Cheers, Pete. |

I was having idle issues and chased around doing static timing, tps reset, injector seals, header seals, fuel filter and everything I could think of. In the end it turned out to be the rubber seal on the fuel cap had perished and allowed water into the fuel tank. The solution was to upend the tank and completely drain it. This is not as easy as it sounds because of the lip on the inside of the fuel cap. I was horrified to discover nearly 500 ml of water. The fuel filter does a pretty good job, but be aware of the need to check the rubber seal under the fuel cap to keep water out of the system. |
