I've heard that the life time of an O2 sensor is about 5 years, is this a fact?
I ask it because my xb9 is, how can I explain?, it's not missing out, it's inconstant at about 2000 2500 rpm, it's like she cant make up her mind about the amount of fuel to inject???
It can be the exhaust I'm running but some times its to much, it's like I cant get the throttle right, kind of feeling???
No errors on ECMspy, any light on the subject will be appreciated
By the way are this part numbers for O2 sensors correct (x9sx from 2005)

For a replacement, you just need a single wire replacement. If you want a heated sensor (3 wire), which may be cheaper, you will need to wire it up to it is heated when the ignition is on (orange and white wire would work).

Gunter has been looking into O2 sensor failures, so in readiness for a reponse from him, it would be good if you logged some data and PMed him.

But, in terms of it hunting, have you done a TPS reset recently?

last TPS reset was 6000km ago, I can do it again and see if gets any better
I don't want to change the sensor, but, what do I gain on fitting a heated one? better, worse, or the same but cheaper and whit more wires?
I'm was just thinking, instead of going to see some boobies on the CARNAVAL I can do the TPS reset on Tuesday

Probably cheaper, cos they are in all cars... They get up to operating temp earlier than single wire ones.

Single wire, unheated, was good enough for Buell.

TPS reset before you spend any money...

I've heard some very negative comments about NGK sensors. Is there a NO O2 sensor option Pash? - You know - the resistor thing.

OK did the damn tps reset yesterday and went to work today on my brothers XT
The bike started but reved alone like a crazy mother accelerate decelerate accelerate and cut of, did this 3 times gave up gone for the yamaha
The thing is: can it be the focting O2 sensor? my girl's punto did a very similar thing and was the O2 sensor
HELP NEEDED URGENT I want my dumper running

The strange thing is it enters the close loop region, does this whit 5.1% on tps and doing 1400 (goes from 400 to 1400 on her one alone no throttle on my part)
not so shore on the O2 sensor any more???
the ecmspy shows no error whit or without the lambda connected

replaced the plug's, try an older eeprom program, checked the connection's, problem continues
removed the O2 sensor, tomorrow going go try and buy a new one, an if still doesn't work I'm blind from there on

The ECM should show an "O2 inactive" error after some time with the O2 sensor disconnected. My best guess would be to make a log file, starting with a cold bike until it's warmed up, probably five to ten minutes.

no can do gunter, she don't old that long, she starts spiting fire from the inlet and goes down eventually.
when I removed the plugs they wore black not that brown coal normal look, I'm afraid to mess something out by forcing her to work

I've try it but cant do it, she goes down, doesn't old

Tried to buy a new O2 sensor on the car parts supply, but, as they are the experts, bike lambda sensors are not the same as cars so piss of, I've event noticed but do bikes rum on water? I've been filing whit gasoline perhaps that's the problem???

Disconnected the head temp sensor, she goes to the roof but stays there, can this be the problem? I've read that the temp sensor is problematic
