I've downloaded this App to my Android phone this week https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... g.ecmdroid looks like it could be a very usefull tool especially if you needed any diagnostic help during a journey as all you need to carry apart from your phone would be a bluetooth dongle to connect to the bikes ecm So hopefully in the next few days i'll give it a try ............I've confirmed it can connect to the bluetooth module that Pash has so kindly let me borrow ........... So if i manage to get it to do anything useful i'll keep you all posted ........ think i need to put a memory card in the phone though if you want it to do any logging .... not sure if required apart from that .

There is a thread regarding ECMDroid in the Swiss buellowners forum. Although it's in German, the developer will probably reply to english questions too: http://www.buellowners.ch/threads/2944-EcmDroid |

Just updated from ecmdroid version v0.7 to version v0.8 and gave it a quick check on Mufffin, It is very easy to use and after plugging the bluetooth module into the bikes diagnostic port and turning on ignition and kill switch you just pair the bluetooth module using your phones normal bluetooth settings. After that you just open the EcmDroid app and tell it to connect to the ECM which uploads the ECM info onto the screen .... not sure how to save screen shots on my S2 but it identified the ECM as the following. ECM ID: BUEJA EEPROM Size 1072 EEPROM pages 5 ECM type DDFI1 ECM Serial No.: 511 ECM Mfg Date 07/01/2000 Allowed me to check for trouble codes Allows active testing of coils tacho fuel pump etc Showed TPS position etc ok and has the facility to reset TPS Showed the AFV as 111.7% So looks a very very useful piece of kit for anybody running an Android smartphone .......... time to make myself a bluetooth module of my own I think |

That looks interesting. I wonder if it could be made to work with the Liveview seperate screen that Sony did a while back. I know they work with an OBD app for cars? I have one if anyone wants to try it. I don't have an FI Buell. http://uk.cellphoneshop.net/mn800.html?adtype=pla&cagpspn=pla&gclid=CLrPoOGo6rQCFXDLtAod91oAPA |

Well i finally got around to setting up my bluetooth dongle today. Not as slim as the one Pash let me try but my choice of voltage regulator took up more space. I then followed Pash's tutorial on using Lynx Term to set up the Baudrate viewtopic.php?f=8&t=13599&p=184855&hilit=lynxterm#p184855 I had a problem getting it to work the first few times but tried again next morning and it went exactly as planned so I suspect the laptop just needed rebooting. Connected it up to Muffin this morning and everything working fine Attachment:
