 Post subject: ANY IDEAS?
PostPosted: 12 Jan 2013 17:58
Hi all
Today was really the first time I've had to ride my bike since I bought it in November due to a broken stand bolt, weather and work
As I'm new to Buells my question is
When I start the bike up it idles at around 1100 rpm although it does jump around slightly but when I'm riding at any speed and have the throttle open but steady as in at 30 or 40 so on, it does seem to surge if that's the right description?
I've read on the forum somewhere about ECMspy but I haven't a clue,so is there anywhere I can get it looked at or any advise?
Thanks in advance

Some bikes, XB9 more than XB12, tend to surge. Properly tuned this will disappear for the most part, but before you touch the fuel maps, make sure, that the bike is mechanically okay, the HT cables and other wires aren't chaffed, the temperature sensors are working properly and the the bike has been fully warmed up.

Well the guys have given you sensible advice but if you want someone to take a look at it we're not too far from you ;)

Black Bear, Newmarket. 01638 664455. I'm off next week. Call Andy and tell him you've been talking to me on UKBEG. We'll get Jon or one of the other guys to take a look at it :)

Steve

Don't be scared to take it to Black Bear they won't rip you off like other main dealers and they do know them inside out. I took mine there a while ago with an intermittent problem and it only cost me £25 and prior to that I had Been messing around for days
