Hi, Wonder if anyone can help? I have a 2004 XB12 s Lightning and the battery is old (2004) and causing problems with the alarm (it would not deactivate on many occasions) I recharged the battery and it was reading 12.7v, when I tried to start the bike and all I got was a very loud clicking noise(I presume the solenoid?) I then attached power pack jump leads (positive to positive and negative to the frame)tried again and still loud clicking noise. Am I correct in thinking that both the battery and the power pack have not got enough power to get the engine to turn over? (the power pack has been left standing for about 6 months!) I would be grateful for any advice. Cheers.

Hey thanks, You were right when you suggested first 'port of call' was a duff battery. I bought a new (MotoBatt gel) battery and hey presto......she started first time. Just waiting for some decent weather now!
