Post subject:  Fuel Maps - what do you think?

Hi all,

Hope you can help
I've attached a screenshot of my maps.
So far my XB12S is running on Akrapovic exhaust, K&N filter is on its way and this screenshot was taken before I've done breather mode.

Will do another one tomorrow again if those changes make any difference.

How do they look?

Sorry guys but I'm new to this and not sure what to start with.

So firstly, that version of ECMSpy doesn't appear to be compatible with your ECM, look at the X and Y axes. What year is your bike? What is the firmware version (on the EEPROM tab)?

I would download the ECMSpy for Mono from www.ecmspy.com

Secondly, one cannot look at a set of maps against a description of mods and say yay or nay.

Changes to fuel maps need to be backed up by measurements, either from the exhaust or the back wheel, or preferably both.

Guys,

I have replaced the exhaust - Akrapovic fitted
K&N filter arrived y'day - fitted
Breather mode - done

Bike starts, sounds awesome but once I touch throttle - dies :(

What's wrong??

Did it misbehave like this before swapping the bits over?

I wasn't doing everything at once.

When replaced exhaust it was behaving a little bit worse but didn't affect much riding.
Then I put it in the garage, did a breather mode and fitted Air filter today ... battery went flat in a meantime so was connected to a optimizer and I only noticed this today when fired it up in the morning with new mods done ... Can this be caused by air filter?
I will reset TPS tomorrow or Monday ... will this make any difference?

Yeah, reset your TPS. Does your fuel pump prime when you turn the ignition on? Is your throttle butterfly opening (is the spindle broken)?

They all seem fine and as I mentioned - everything worked perfect until i fired it up in the morning.
Will reset TPS and see what happens then. Pump makes the usual noise and butterfly seems fine as well.

How the hell anyone can make something of all those numbers is way beyond me! :worthy:
Do I need any special type of laptop, if I decide to buy EMCspy and a cable?
Sorry OP for the slight hijack!

Any laptop up to approximately 5 years old will do. If you want to log data while riding, have a look at the palm version of Ecmspy or EcmDroid for Android smartphones. These require a bluetooth dongle.

I'll have a butchers at the webpage when I get a bit of time.
I would have to buy a laptop, so I suppose any cheapy new machine will run the program? I could put it in a backpack connected up for test runs I suppose.
I dislike all these palm gadgets. I still prefer carberetters and points. :old:

I can assure you, after several years of logging, that only very few things on gods own earth are more cumbersome and annoying than handling a laptop in a backpack for logging. Better get/borrow a Palm and a bluetooth dongle and use that. Has the advantage that you do not have to pay for an extra laptop and could use a powerfull desktop PC with a large display at home for logfile viewing.
